Chief Technology Officer

As our founding CTO you own the whole technical picture of Bamudda — the schema-per-tenant Django platform, the storefront and dashboard experiences, the payments and domains infrastructure, and the roadmap that ties them together. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO to turn merchant needs into a durable, scalable architecture.
This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll still read and write code, set the engineering culture, hire the founding team, and decide the trade-offs that let a small team ship like a big one. You'll champion our AI-first way of working so the whole team compounds its output.
What you'll do
- Define and communicate the technical roadmap alongside the CEO
- Own platform architecture: multi-tenancy, reliability, security and cost
- Hire, grow and lead the founding engineering team
- Set engineering standards, review cadence and delivery rhythm
- Make build-vs-buy and infrastructure decisions that scale
- Establish how the team uses AI tooling to raise speed and quality
What you'll bring
- 8+ years building web platforms, 3+ leading engineers
- Deep experience with Python/Django and cloud infrastructure
- You have scaled a SaaS or marketplace product before
- Strong architectural judgement and pragmatic decision-making
- You lead by example and raise the bar on quality

- Pair with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code) to scaffold, refactor and review changes faster
- Use AI to draft tests, migrations and documentation, then verify and harden them
