Software Engineering Intern
Remote · Uganda · Remote – Uganda
This internship is a real seat on the engineering team. From week one you'll work on real issues — small features, fixes and tests — with a dedicated mentor and thorough code review. You'll learn our Django, Tailwind, Alpine and HTMX stack by building, not watching.
We're AI-first, so you'll learn to use AI coding assistants well from day one: how to prompt them, when to trust them, and how to verify their output. Remote within Uganda, open to students and early-career engineers.
What you'll do
- Ship small features, fixes and tests with a mentor
- Learn the codebase through pairing and code review
- Write and improve automated tests
- Use AI coding assistants responsibly, verifying their output
What you'll bring
- Solid programming fundamentals in any language
- Curiosity, ownership and a willingness to learn fast
- Some Python or web experience is a plus, not a must
How you'll use AI here
We're an AI-first team — here's how you'll work faster and better in this role.
- Pair with AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code) to scaffold, refactor and review changes faster
- Use AI to draft tests, migrations and documentation, then verify and harden them
- Investigate incidents and logs with AI copilots to cut time-to-fix
